We'll have to agree to disagree here. I purchased a MacBook Air with the M1 chip. Anytime you connect or disconnect peripherals from the USB-C ports, the laptop crashes with a Kernel error. Apple wants to repair - not replace - the unit even though it has been defective since day 1. I opened my first support case the day after I purchased it. That was more than 2 months ago now. Still crashes twice daily.
