Western culture! Seriously. I'm in my forties and am just now learning how to talk to my wife about my feelings. It's taken a number of blow-up conversations for me to realize that talking to a woman about your feelings can be as easy as talking to another guy about football (if you're into that sort of thing; which I'm not).
